Letter to the Editor
What a waste of a parliamentary week last week in federal parliament. As ordinary citizens we are happy that the government has bought in the groundwork for the National Disability Insurance Scheme and other positive moves on our behalf. It was a real disappointment though to see the negative tactics from the Opposition lead by the most risky of politicians Tony Abbott.
Risky, because he presented no alternate policy to sell to us, risky because he is off chasing shadows trying to implicate the PM in something that has already had near on 20 years of investigation and has turned up no evidence.
The Prime Minister gave this bloke a chance to level an allegation at her, and he failed. It was a put up or shut up moment and he couldn’t produce an allegation, meaning that he was just throwing shit, hoping some would stick, without success. Seriously, could anyone vote this type of bloke into the Prime Minister of Australia’s chair, I think not.
In the parallel universe that conservative politicians live in they do not face hardship or the stresses of life that the community that surround them face, they are unable to understand the lives that those of us who drive second hand cars, and who live on Struggle Street every week trying to pay even basic survival bills such as electricity, rates/rent, and proper food and what’s more nor do they care.
It’s time to decide early on to stick with the government we have for one more term, as we will get no joy from an Abbott government, some will say that I am dead wrong, in which case I only have two words for them….Campbell Newman!
