Subject: Oh how my heart bleeds
Letter to the Editor
Oh how my heart bleeds for the wealthy who will lose their subsidy on their private health insurance re What about cost of living, Cathy TB 22.06.13.
Subsidies need to exist for those of us who otherwise could not afford to survive, pensioners and low income families, it is expected that the wealthy are able to pay their own way, free of government hand-outs. Perhaps Mr. Dillon should think of the stores people, the shop assistants who serve him when he buys groceries or clerks who process his business transactions, these are the people who actually need subsidies, or perhaps Mr. Dillon would rather serve himself at the various locations such as lunch, petrol for the car and the many other activities that poorly paid people perform.
Those who should complain the loudest hardly utter a peep it seems, while those who are already well off don’t seem to be able to stop complaining. My advice to wealthy people is to get on enjoying your life while you have it and cease and desist with the whinging, especially in Townsville, you live in the best part of the world, can afford any and everything unlike the majority of people. Do us all a favor.
