Letter to the Editor
Thanks to the media for highlighting the scandal ridden Abbott governments travel rorts affair, it causes some of us to ponder whether all politicians are on the up and up, or if some politicians take bribes and or kickbacks.
In the Townsville Bulletin 12.10.13 Land mistakes being buried one simply has to apply common sense to the two developers who are trying to spend billions of dollars in our area and being knocked back for reasons best known to the Townsville City Council politicians? Both the Willowbend and the proposed Pinnacles developments seem to make sense to the average person, and I believe it is high time that Cr Veitch in particular ( as Townsville First aka LNP councillors control the council) gave the community as reasonable excuse as to why these developments should not go ahead?
We elect a council to govern our area, not to squash competition. Are there any links between the Townsville First councillors and the three existing developers that the public do not know about? Surely more homes, each paying between $2,000 – $3,000 p.a in rate revenue for rubbish collection would be an asset to the city, not a liability.
