Turnbull sells out young people to the deranged, to save himself

The LNP have factions within factions. These people are in the extreme right wing of the Liberal Party, but at the same time are members of the extreme religious right wing, it gets very complicated, when blogging about the Liberal Party as part of the LNP.

No Place For Sheep

Malcolm Turnbull

One of the (many) problems I see with religious ideology is that it offers people whose intelligence and experiential curiosity is limited by cowardice and fear, a socially legitimised avoidance of the challenges of thinking differently.

This is what we’re witnessing in the current outburst of venomous denial expressed by Cory Bernardi, George Christiansen, Lyle Shelton and their fellow travellers towards  the Safe Schools program.

This is an extremist group resistant to any change in what they perceive as the traditional order of things. They use nostalgic reification of “tradition,” underpinned by religious ideology, to legitimise what is nothing more than personal emotion and private insecurity.

This isn’t to say only religious people are closed to difference, or that all religious people are closed, and religion isn’t the only ideology that closes minds and hearts. However, in this instance, which is focused on human sexuality and its many expressions, the…

In the case of…

In a case of the rats deserting the sinking ship both the National Party leader and the LNP Trade Minister are leaving the floundering Turnbull ship. Whilst the Liberal Party factions are fighting themselves within their party for pre-selection especially in New South Wales and the National Party dreading having Barnaby Joyce as party leader and thus Deputy Prime Minister, Ms Landry LNP member for Capricornia thinks of Barnaby as the rock star of the bush, the rest of us remember him as the accountant that couldn’t tell millions from billions.
With two federal LNP Ministers being lost in the past 6 weeks, and it appearing another could be lost as early as today the federal government is in turmoil. Mr Turnbull is looking to go to an election in the next 6 weeks before the misbehaviour of more LNP MPs becomes obvious and newsworthy. For goodness sake when the chance arrives to sack this incompetent and unruly LNP government, use it to progress our nation in a more equitable form.

There has never been a more exciting time

There has never been a more exciting time to be a pensioner, or so I’m told. Yes it is an hour by hour quest to keep one feed and watered, and maintain a roof over one’s head. Whilst surviving on the pension, in fact I’m almost certain that there exists as much innovation in our section of the community, as much talent on money management as exists in all the State’s and the federal treasuries combined.
Our home budget is micro managed to such an extent that we use the least amount of electricity, water, food and everyday items, the only factor that we cannot control is our health. We have paid our taxes all of our working lives (in our case 30 years plus) unlike corporations who turn over in excess of $100 million, and pay absolutely nothing.
Those who refuse to pay their ‘fair share of taxation’ to the nation where they derive their income in my humble opinion are ‘corporate bludgers’ and while we pensioners struggle to survive, those obscenely paid executives of industry and Vice Chancellors of well-established universities live the life of Riley on ‘our’ contribution to the taxation system, something is drastically wrong here and needs correction urgently if Australia is ever to return to being ‘the lucky country.’ What is Ewen Jones doing with regard to the 579 corporations who didn’t pay a cent of tax in the 2013/14 financial year? It is almost as though they decided that they had ‘their’ government in and so no longer needed to make a contribution.
P.S Ewen Jones is my local LNP federal politician.
